Clownfish (Amphiprioninae)
Gram for gram the most vicious fish in the sea
[Canon Ixus 400 and WP-DC800 Waterproof Case]
This little guy was defending his anemone with such ferocity, the sharks were steering well clear!
Grey Nurse Shark (Carcharias taurus)
Nice smile but not considered dangerous
[Canon Ixus 400 and WP-DC800 Waterproof Case]
These Grey Nurse Sharks, protected in some parts of Australia, were filmed near Latitude Rock at a depth of approximately 10m. They appeared a little intimidating at first, but their lack of interest in the plentiful hors d'oeuvre buffet gave some confidence that I would not be on the menu. The water was cold, as perceived for Australia, at 17deg.C.
Who's watching who?
[Canon Ixus 400 and WP-DC800 Waterproof Case]
There were many of these Grey Nurse Sharks, 2.5 to 3.5m long, patrolling the sandy gulleys near Little Seal Rock at a depth of approximately 20m. The water was a little warmer at 19deg.C.
